Genre conventions - task number two

Genre conventions

A genre convention is a typical or standard trope of plot, character, setting, icon, theme, or effect in a genre story. For instance, in a Western it is conventional to have the heroes wear white hats and the villains wear black hats. This is more commonly known as an icon convention.

There are many sub-genres and conventions, some of these inside the school magazine include relationships, fashion and a lot more language is directly aimed towards you, e.g. 1 week to change YOUR grades. Layouts in news magazines are formal, symmetrical and uncluttered – indicates that the audience of intelligent and classy.

These sub-genres and conventions will influence my school magazine design because I will provide a few of them inside my magazine such as using formal text and formal way of presenting my magazine to gather peoples attention of the intelligent kind.
